Our trip to Kansas...

Normally when we go to Topeka, we have to cram all of our activities into 4 days. This time we had 9 days, and we had so much fun! We went to the zoo, our friend(s) houses, played putt-putt,went swimming, watched a soccer game, ate pizza (3 nights in a row), dyed Easter eggs, had an American Idol contest, saw our Great-Grandma and Great Aunts and Uncle, had Van Dyke family photos and an Easter celebration! Wow, we miss you already!  (Avery missed you that night...cried crocodile tears and told me to take her back to the airport)  Avery is a city girl, but loves the simple life in Kansas.

old post

I found this draft from 11/11/09 that I never posted...
Todd and I once asked each other, who does Avery take after? Todd immeditaley said him, of course, because she looks just like him. But, we quickly listed the similarity Avery has to Todd and to me.

Here is our list:

Aves is like Todd: looks, personality, social, outgoing, funny, sense of humor, practical joker, hard headed, stubborn, smart

Aves is like me: kind, sensitive, thoughtful, obsessive, careful, funny , sweet, analytical (thinker), smart

Avery has a little of me and a little of him in her, but she has A LOT of humor in her...she is seriously one of the funniest people I know. She has great timing & is so appropriate in what she says...(not always...I picked her up from preschool like week and she said, Holy Shit!)

Here is my conversation with Avery this morning:

Aves: Where is Tim? (Tim is our neighbor)

Me: He is asleep.

Aves: It is day time. I don't sleep in the day.

Me: Tim does.

Aves: Why?

Me: Because he parties like a rock star.

Aves: He is so parapazzi.

Aves: Why did Nina run away? (Nina is our neighbors cat, who ran from us when she saw us)

Me: Because she is wild

Aves: Nina, get back here. She is so parapazzi too!

( I am laughing at this point)

Me: Hi Gray (our neighbor's other cat)

Aves: Hey Gray, come here. (Gray comes to our car)

Me: I pull off because he tries to jump in

Aves: Mom...where you going...

Me: Gray tried to jump in our car

Aves: Why?

Me: Because he is silly willy

Aves: He's so trippy, trippy

SO...I am going to use this blog to write down all the funny things Avery says.

This summer, while I was visiting my family in Kansas, my sister, Sarah, told me to make a list of all of Avery's sayings.
