FarmFest at the zoo...

Lincoln Park Zoo is the only zoo in the United States that is FREE! A beautiful, fun place to spend your day, this park is a favorite of Aves and Stels. Tonight, we attended a fun charity event called FarmFest. The girls got to feed the goats, watch the cows being milked, play in the tractor, see baby chicks being born and get in a tornado tunnel with winds of 78 miles. What a fun evening...

Waiting in line to get in...

Avery waiting patiently :)

Grandma and Grandpa Van Dyke come to visit!

This summer my parents came to visit us for a little R & R. We had so much fun eating, playing, shopping and hanging out. We all love it when Grandma and Grandpa come to visit :)
They arrived on Saturday afternoon.  We had plans to go to the Sox vs. Royals game, however, it rained so change of plans... Dinner at Old Oak Tap and shopping!
Grandpa ordered a beer from Avery Brewing Co. out of Colorado.
(It was gross, so Daddy drank it!)
The next day we did some more shopping....
Good Morning, Grandpa.

The next day we found this little guy in our walk-out patio area...

Monday and Tuesday we spent the days exploring the neat neighborhood of Andersonville.  We ate delicious meals at Acres and Lady Gregory's and found an amazing hutch for my hallway at Roost.
Tuesday, we also celebrated my birthday with dinner at Enoteca Roma in Wicker Park. Neat outdoor patio and tasty Italian cuisine :) Treats were provided by Sweet Mandy B's...love iced molasses cookies.  Happy Birthday, Caroline! no pictures :(

On our final day with Grandma & Grandpa we took them to Dinkel's Bakery for THE BEST donuts :) My dad LOVES a good donut...and so do I :)

Breakfast at Dinkel's!
The rest of the time we could be found at the park...
Avery loves the "twisty turny"

Smile!

Push me, Grandpa!

Higher, Grandma!

Stella Michael with Grandpa Mike...Stella is a Van Dyke. Can't you tell!

Puffs and Cherrios

8 months: Stella is learning how to pick up small objects with her fingers/hands. She is also learning to chew her food. Go, Stella! Introducing puffs to Stella was so fun to watch!

Fast forward to 10 months and Stella is a pro at feeding herself :)
